Instructors

All Nexus training is led by at least one sensei. The word sensei is Japanese, a title of respect used to address anyone who is a teacher or one who has attained a certain level of mastery in a field. However, in the martial arts, a sensei is much more than an instructor.

A sensei is a leader and mentor, someone responsible for guiding a student's journey from novice to expert. A sensei takes a student's unrefined and unknown potential and nurtures it into a well-rounded, worthwhile final result. It takes many years of training to attain this level and every sensei has made the same journey that you, as a student, are about to embark upon.

Yoga: Andrea Dragicevic

Andrea Dragicevic

Andrea has evolved in this lifetime to the status of teacher—one who shows others how. Along with her BA in Psychology from Brock University and her Social Services Diploma from Niagara College, Andrea is a Certified Hatha Yoga Teacher and has been practicing yoga since 2000 beginning with Astanga yoga in Manhattan NYC, and 8 years as a Classical Yoga student.

Andrea is a free spirit guided by love. Her passions other than yoga include her career dedicated to helping others through mostly Palliative Care and providing respite for families with an ill loved one. She searches to expand horizons and to be inclusive of all people. Andrea's gift is that she sees the world as a whole and recognizes that all the participants are merely equal parts of that whole. Forgiveness and understanding are two of her most notable qualities. Her life has been defined by a series of opposites: youth-age; birth-death; health-illness; wealth-poverty: joy-sadness; isolation-company and so on. Change has been the fullness of her life. She believes in solving problems and finding solutions when others would prefer to complain or cry.

Andrea has discovered that true joy is in the journey. Her most precious moments were becoming a wife in 2006, and giving birth to her sons in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Andrea encourages and challenges others through yoga to: become amazed at the power within your body and mind. It is never too late to have a better life and it is never too late to change one. Choice is your tool in sculpting a portion of joy from your life's offerings.
